Whats so annoying about sting? i mean use a wiz and do one or two fire bolt. its easy to kill them. but with wiz gargoyle is making hunting annoying in gl_dun03. U need to teleport if gargoyle comes near u. but if ur using a knight or sinx no need to fear gargoyle also. sinx is best for it. just cloak and get passed gargoyle and attck sting with a fire katar u'll get from eddga.
